No, not that book by Sartre, but sexual intimacy... where do you find it?

Divinitydesires was just blogging about favorite types of sex, and Frogger1995 was writing about intimacy and different types of sex, and they got me reflecting on this.

So, thoughtful reader, what sexual act do you find more intimate than any other?

(I, of course, have my own thoughts on this, which I'll share later. I don't want to influence anyone's words.)

Intimacy is that moment when you feel beyond complete in the presence of someone else.

Hmmm.... damn, that really got me thinking. I can't separate sexual intimacy from emotional intimacy (although you CAN be emotionally intimate without sex - more on my blog later).

I had thought to mention 69, since oral sex is very intimate, and mutual even more so... but in all honesty I have to say missionary position is the most intimate for me.

Foreplay is the most intimate sexual act for me, partly due to the emotional and partly due to the physical.

When I am held firmly as I tremble my way down from an orgasm and he is talking to me softly.

I would have to say that intimacy for me is when you are with someone and you really connect--on a level higher than just sex---there is this feeling you have and you just cannot explain it no matter how you try -- I am a big advocate on kissing, but I believe that it makes sex much more intense -- unless you have those unexplainable feelings that take it to another level...hope that all makes sense LOL

missionary, when both care lots about the other & defenses down, eye contact, at moment of entry. nothing in the world is more intimate than that, sexual or otherwise.

Grammatically and punctuation-wise, that's gotta be my most all time worst comment. Apologies, and now I'm off to a remedial grammar class.

Intimacy isn't any sexual act. None are more intimate in my mind than any other. Intimacy is something that transcends the act. It's a connection to the other person, not an act.

Face to face man on top..the way God intended Dammit!

Seriously though...I like the idea of a man dominating me on top and missionary is face to face. I think legs over the shoulders makes you more vulnerable and thus requires more trust...creating more intimacy.

The most intimate thing I've done is after I've fisted a woman and she's had an intense orgasm, I keep my hand in her cunt. I feel the shudders, the warmth, the moisture. I lay my head on her belly and for one brief moment, I am a part of her.

I think intimacy is a true gift voodoo...and a combination of the right chemistry, the right state of mind, the right state of heart. Sex can be very intense without intimacy and intimacy extremely enriching without sex...I find that kissing can be a very very intimate way to communicate. I dated an impotent man...and we were extremely intimate in our embraces. The most intimate moments I have had in my life involved volunteering as a palliative care person...and helping people pass...sorry about the morbidity... Very interesting question though.
