Can't hold out any longer...

I'm pretty sure these "X things about me" are just an easy way to get a post out when you've no burning topic to write on.

So I'm only going to do 25 today... it'll give me three more posts in the future!

1. I sincerely enjoy opera.
2. I was and remain entirely opposed to the Iraq war, but at the time, would have had no problem resuming war with North Korea.
3. I was also in favor of military action against the Taliban as early as 1997 for their crimes against women.
4. I can tie a bow-tie, and wear them with my linen and seersucker suits, looking like a not so snarky Tucker Carlson.
5. I have an extremely high constitution; I once took 90mg of Xanax over the course of two or three days (I don’t remember) and only passed out a couple times.
6. I smoked pot for the first time in 5th grade.
7. I don’t drink or take drugs at all anymore.
8. Along with a distribution team, I published an underground newspaper in high school; we only printed one issue because of the shitstorm we created, people got into some serious trouble.
9. I used to own and race a Porsche 911.
10. I used to own and style in a VW Karmann Ghia Cabriolet.
11. I used to own and look like a retard in an AMC Gremlin.
12. I can go to the Hamptons and stay in my best friend’s eight bedroom home pretty much anytime I want.
13. I don’t, because I fucking hate the Hamptons.
14. I’ve been in love twice.
15. I think MissAnnThrope looks like Lisa Marie’s portrayal of Vampira in “Ed Wood”.
16. I’m a fiscal conservative, and social liberal.
17. I’ve said no to two sexual requests, and put another off for a few months (but said yes to all other lovers’ requests).
18. Right now, my hair is the longest it’s been in about 11 years (see kilt pic on profile).
19. I intend on getting it cut any day now.
20. I once had a mohawk.
21. If I could have any hairstyle, I’d choose Sideshow Bob’s.
22. I once spoke before an audience of about 750 people, a third of whom were uniformed cops.
23. I left college after my junior year, but went back at age 29 and graduated with honors.
24. I masturbated last night.
25. I love quality suits, but hate ties.

Yeah the Sideshow Bob hairdo is very convenient - you can hide behind plants any time you want

woohooo!! nice kilt... (um... so, is it true what men don't wear...?) ehem... great... now i've got stuck in my head!

I think back around 98 i forwarded an email to all my Muslim friends about the Taliban and their treatment of women. Most of them were PO'd at me... they felt it was all lies, and that i was spreading falsehoods. Only one ... after being PO'd.. calmed down a bit to think about it. and realized i don't forward junk like most, and so had to think seriously about it. Then he figured out my reasoning. As he said, hopefully it was not true... but if it was... then all Muslims in the world should be aware, and do something about it, bcuz it's wrong.

Can't wait to read the remaining 75 i considered briefly of doing a similar post.. but i can never think of anything to say. and the little i do think of, i later decide is too stupid and not as cool as everybody else's. lol.

Oops!! insert "The Scotsman Song" between "i've got" and "stuck" lol. that's what i have stuck in my head.

My brain, on the other hand... i left it somewhere on the side of the freeway.

hourglasses - Could do a lot of neat things with his hair; I'm serious, that hair is cool, but this white boy could never get hair like that.

I wouldn't want Bob's feet... or would I?

Think I could probably spend an entire day at a coffee shop with you talking about the Simpsons.

um... Gee, thanks. I think.

As far as the Taliban goes, it wasn't just human rights violations against women. They did terrible things to men too, not to mention various other things. When not even Iran will recognise you as a valid government or religious movement and denounces your actions, then you're pretty damned bad. But most of us were screaming, "Death to the Taliban!" almost as soon as they seized power.

Now, a Gremlin, eh? I thought I was bad by owning a Pacer.

Welcome to the club! Because, as you know, you can't be an official AdultFriendFinder blogger until you create one. Why am I not surprised at anything on this list...except for 22, 23, and 25

22: you don't strike me as a cop type of person...Not that you are a cop

23: NOT surprised at the honors, surprised at the leaving. Let me guess...you went to Tibet to "find yourself."

25: Again, you don't strike me as a suit type of guy.

Hey, we had a Gremlin when I was a kid, I loved that car. The floor was always covered with Big Mac boxes.

MissAnnThrope - you're welcome! (It is a compliment.) But who's this "us" you speak of? As I recall, the only Americans even aware of the Taliban back then were policy wonks and NPR listeners.

frogger1995 - glad to know the frogger is safely back home; what comfort food did your moms make you? No, I'm not a cop, nor have I ever been a cop; it was... something like that; not a fan of the "reasonably priced" suits, but yeah, a really nice suit that fits particularly well with a blindingly white broadcloth shirt, tucked or untucked - I look good and I feel good.

justsayhi2005 - Indeed. Three mos. worth.

saintlianna - Heh, the floor of my 'Ghia was always covered with girlies' panties; it was a much better chick magnet than the Porsche.

A linen and seer-sucker suit? Add a monacle and cane and you are good to go!

#24. Interestingly enough... I also had a pleasurable experience that same night.

You know what they say? Third time is a charm.

Smooches,
Watchme

Voodoo, that "us" would have been me and the people I knew whom I managed to educate on the subject. What always astounded me at the time were women I knew who claimed to be feminists. Well, I had to listen to chapter and verse on religious freedom and how it was their culture. I tried to explain it wasn't their culture, the Taliban were Pakistani invaders who just moved in and took over and I was told I was ignorant of other cultures and showing "white fright". Needless to say, those people did not remain friends over the years.

MissAnn - one of the very few things I share with Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, et al, is a conviction that some cultures are, in fact, superior to others.

This conflicts some assertions of Nietzsche that I have a troubled relationship with, but mostly agree with. That's OK though, since I don't work in conflict resolution.
