AFF: First impressions

I was a bit leery of a service like this but I was also curious. So here I am. Here's what I've found so far:

#1: There are a lot of really desperate guys in Portland. I'm sure it's the same all over. But holy shit, I had no idea that the testosterone level in this city was so high. Makes me nervous walking around out there, and I've not even got a vagina.

#2: Lots of women seem to be offering exactly what desperate guys want. "Looking for immediate, no-commitment sex! I'm a wildcat!" My B.S.-o-meter goes off a lot as I read through the listings here. Also, there's no way that so many of the ladies around here look like 20-year-old porn stars. I'd bet $50 that half of the sex-kitten types are really just adolescent boys thinking that they're clever and trying to convince themselves that it's all just a game and they aren't *really* perverted for toying with desperate men.

#3: Did I mention the desperation already?

I've also found some coolness. I asked a question in a local chatroom and a nice dude answered me like I was a real person or something. That's always refreshing in public chatrooms. (Thanks, Dosman2k3, assuming I remembered your name correctly. If I didn't, tack an apology onto that thanks.) And a nice lady sent me an email 'cause our interests matched. That rocks. I'd like to make some friends... 7 years of marriage doesn't do much for friendships, and I don't have many buddies anymore. And how does a divorced father of 5 find friends?...

Apparently, he joins the desperate masses and tries to figure out which ladies are fer reals, and which are fer sumpin' else. I can't wait until some nice gal asks me for my bank account information or something... that would make my day. I find stuff like that hilarious. Dunno why. I'll have to ask The Voices about that.

Just kidding. I won't ask Them. (They don't answer my questions.)

Ugh, my son just fell off his bike. Gotta go be a medic. What a thrilling conclusion to my first blog entry! It's probably par for the course, though. During the days, my kids are my life. And, luckily for me, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Peace out,
Scott
