Back to school
Back to school
It is that time of the year again. School is starting back for all of the kids in the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS!!!! Doing all of the shopping for school supplies and school clothes. It is so much fun!! I use to be able to do all of the shopping without the kids with me. Just get what was on the list of school supplies. And the clothing was so easy when they wore uniforms. Even just regular clothes were easier before I had 2 teenagers.
Teenagers have opinions on what looks good and what is cool, apparently I don’t. Mom’s opinion is always wrong when it comes to clothes for them. If I even suggest that something looks cute, back on the shelf it goes. I do not have teenager taste in anything that goes on their bodies. I do have a lot of say so, but only the yes or no! Anything more and we will be in the store for 3 more hours trying stuff on.
The stores that the kids like shopping at are scary to me. I am afraid to go into the stores. Frightening!!! I like JCPenney’s or Foley’s. Maybe even Target. But not the kids! I can get socks and underwear at Target but that is it.
Many years ago, George Dubbaya decided that the state of TEXAS should have a tax free weekend for school clothes. I have fought the crowds and hit the sales racks. I have decided that $8.25 on a $100 is not a big enough savings for me to go shopping on tax free weekend. What kind of savings would make it worth my while? 25% to 50% off. Then I will brave the crowds.
Here in TEXAS on of the school districts made a new dress code of no cleavage. I can tell you that from my point of view, my sister and mom have cleavage no matter what top that they wear. I can put on the same top and there is not any cleavage showing. They have built in cleavage. I have cleavage bra. It is pretty cool, just tighten the drawstring and pull those babies together. I feel like if I lean my head down my chin will be resting on my boobs. That is a really weird feeling. It is almost like I am wearing a life vest. So I don’t wear it too much.
I hope that Friday come quickly! I am ready for 2 days off! Ya’ll have a GREAT remaining week or weekend.

Rox you are a blast I love reading your blog. Living here in Texas right beside you. I too wouldn't brave the crowds for just a $10 savings. My wife does each and everytime it comes around. A penny saved is a penny earned in her mind. Maybe the reason we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things. I feel a penny saved probably took 2 pennies saving it. Nice thought about the cleavage. Where I live there is one of the strictest dress codes with out being a uniform. I agree with it and don't want them to change it. Kids can express themselves out side of the classrooms enough and there is no need to be an individual all the time. |
Let's hear for Fridays and Coming Early .... well early and often.
