Reminders of Humanity

Ok...I've been gone a couple of days because I fucked up. BAD.

As much as we'd like to rise above it sometimes it reaches up to smack us in the face and remind us that we're just as fallible (and human) as the next guy...the guys we love to rant about when they do stupid shit. Errr...guess what? We're all capable of doing stupid shit - sometimes incredibly stupid shit that it's almost impossible to find acceptable excuses for. Sometimes stuff for which there are no acceptable excuses...just some brain-dead dumb-ass attack.

It's a strange irony that we manage to hurt the people we care about the most...or maybe not...if we didn't care about them how could anything we do affect them?

So I've behaved like an egotistical idiot...and learned from the experience. I don't expect that things can go back to the way they were before. I don't know that that kind of transgression can ever be forgotten or forgiven.

I would hope that they know how truely sorry I am that I got caught in my baser instincts and understand that I acted not out of a desire to hurt them...but out of my own insecurities and needs - and with a selfishness that does no credit to myself or humanity - and recognize that (albeit after the fact) I'm not perfect or anywhere close.

I don't expect to ever share the same confidences again (having betrayed them) but I would hope that eventually we can be friends again on some level - because I treasured that and would never have betrayed that if I were perfect.

One more reason I don't walk across swimming pools...

Making the mistake makes you human. Knowing and apologizing makes you a real man. *hugs*

Without knowing the details of to who you are speaking to or what infraction took place, I would say that this person should accept your heartfelt and humble apology. To err is human and to forgive devine.

Hey--wasn't Divine that weird fella in Pink Flamingos?

Smart people seem to make the same mistakes again and again. Idiots never know they screwed up.
