NASCAR Sunday Is Approaching

Alright, the cat is out of the bag. Yes, I am a HUGE NASCAR fan and am getting exciting that Daytona is this weekend.

Now that it is NASCAR season, I will blog less on Sundays. Oh my What am I going to do.

I heard that Dale Jr may drive the #3 car this weekend in honor of his father. That would be cool.

So I am curious... Who is a NASCAR fan out there and who is your driver

I like Tony Stewart because he is such a bad ass and of course Jimmy Johnson because the man is just damn hot and he can drive too.

Ahhhh the smell of those burning tires gets me all wet and gives me goosebumps! OMG, did I just say that ?

I lived in Dover, Delaware for a year about 4 miles from the raceway. I am NOT a Nascar fan, but I met many cool people who were!

Living less than ten miles from "The Rock"... yeah, I'm a fan. Not a fan of restrictor plate racing though. I would hate to see any of these guys get killed. I for one, don't want to see the "big one."

If Jr. drives the number 3, that would be cool. I just hope they can get everything back together behind the scenes... though I feel there will be some huge changes at the Enterprise within the next couple of years.

My pic this weekend will be my best "Dale" impression. Daytona is the place to be this weekend. unlisted

Hot tires. Hot brakes. Hi-octane fuel burning on a warm spring day.

Cold beer in my hand. Hot girls all around the Monster Mile.

And the 24 takes the checkered flag, followed immediately by the 48 and the 25.

Unfortunately for some fans, the 29 car never even entered the race.

His diaper was dirty, and he couldn't get the binky out of his mouth!

Hee hee.

What outfit should I look for? Or will you be purring loud enough to be heard over 43 thundering 800 HP engines?

I grew up and still live about 30 minutes from Lowe's Motor Speedway (it will always be Charlotte to me). I remember lying on the couch on hot Sunday afternoons listening to my transistor radio to the likes of Richard Petty, "Fearless" Fred Lorenzen, Cale Yarborough, David Pearson, and Jr. Johnson go at it. I remember how sad it was when Fireball Roberts lost his life from burns suffered in a wreck at Charlotte with Ned Jarrett. And I remember the racing at Riverside, Myrtle Beach, Bowman-Gray, Islip, Weaverville, and North Wilkesboro. And the legendary mechanics such as Smokey Yunick ("best damn garage in Daytona Beach!"), Cotton Owens, "Suitcase" Jake Elder, and Glen and Leonard Wood. Yeah, I guess you could say I'm a NASCAR fan. Go, Jeff Gordon!

Purry,
In reference to Jr. driving #3, he made a statement this week that he wanted to drive the #3 sometime before his career ended. Teresa doesn't want anyone to drive the 3, but there's not much she can do about it as RCR, who Dale drove for, has control of the #3. Jr. also says that he will probably take over DEI one day down the road. IMHO, and with all due respect to Earnhardt fans, if they aren't going to stop someone from using the #43, then there's no reason someone can't use the #3. I feel Richard Petty is and always has been NASCAR.

Jenna digs Jeff, too.

I rest my case.

The drive for 5 in on in earnest this year, folks. You've been given fair warning.

In further reference to Junior driving the number 3 car: If it's available and he wants to honor his father that way, Theresa should shut her mouth.

Who else could possibly EVER sit in the #3 but an Earnhardt?
