Father's Day Humour

I wanted to wish you all a Happy Father's Day and hope you get to watch lots of sports, bbq, and take a nap.

I know I am grateful today to both to Sail and my dad. My dad has always been a patient man and always has made me feel like I am the most beautiful girl in the world. I remember running away only once because I thought I was ugly.
I just walked to the horse farm up the road. After a few minutes, my dad showed up and we sat on the fence talking and he convinced me that I was a beautiful swan and not the ugly duckling I thought I was.....I need to have that talk with him again....lol

To Sail I am grateful, because since my kids were 8 and 4 he has been in their life. This young bachelor basically gave everything up just for me and for them and here we are 12 years later happy as can be and the kids are almost out of the house and have turned out to be great human beings thanks to him. He may be a little tough on them every now and then, but it helps build their character and make them responsible.

Have a great day all and here is a little joke for ya!

Martin had just received his brand new drivers license. The family troops out to the driveway, and climbs in the car, where he is going to take them for a ride for the first time. Dad immediately heads for the back seat, directly behind the newly minted driver.
"I'll bet you're back there to get a change of scenery after all those months of sitting in the front passenger seat teaching me how to drive," says the beaming boy to his father.

"Nope," comes dad's reply, "I'm gonna sit here and kick the back of your seat as you drive, just like you've been doing to me all these years."

I've never been blessed with the honor of being a Dad, but I've always been a GREAT UNCLE (and recently, I really am... my nephew and his wife just welcomed their first-born!)...

Gotta a real "kick" out of the punchline up there... not because my Dad sat behind me when I first drove, but remembering the times my brother and sister and I would fight over the seating arrangements in the back seat. The loser got the window seat behind Dad! And, sooner or later, Dad's lightning fast hand would whip around the seat to smack a forgetful leg that stretched out under his seat!

It did turn out to be a great day. I had an added bonus and got to see all four of my nieces and they love me to pieces. I did end up burning most of the burgers, but it was nice just to be with my family.

Talk to you all soon,
