How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?

The Bee Gees echo my sentiments right now....

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken woman?
(I changed the lyrics from man to woman)
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

I am so disenchanted and discouraged with people - OK, just one man in particular. I just don't understand how people can have such blatant disregard for other people's feelings. I am a very honest woman. I believe that I am very candid and sincere about what I am seeking from others on AdultFriendFinder. I enjoy the company of men and I LOVE SEX. I am NOT looking for just a one-night-stand I also believe that you can NEVER have too many friends in life. Well, in my fantasy world, friends don't intentionally hurt you. This just isn't the case in my life right now.

I met a man on AdultFriendFinder. We began "chatting" in February. Our friendship/relationship progressed and by the end of July we decided to have a monogamous relationship. He was deployed to the Persian Gulf the beginning of August. Almost two weeks ago he returned to the great state of Ohio. I have only received two instant messages from him in that period of time. He has NOT answered his telephone, not returned my phone calls (I have only called him twice since his return) and hasn't responded to either of my e-mails. We had a great relationship before he left and he decided the pace at which we progressed. I am so hurt and confused by the whole situation.

I wish people would stop and think before they act. I don't know what pleasure is derived from being deceitful and dishonest with others. I guess all I'm really asking for is open communication and honesty. Be a real man (or real woman) and have the courage to discuss your feelings and emotions with people you claim to care about.

It's really hard to put closure on this relationship. There are so many questions that are un-answered. It is always sad when we have to say good-bye to our friends and move on with our lives, but it is much easier if you BOTH are aware that the circumstances have changed.

I will miss you Eric...

nice slow ride....You gotta love the Bee Gees - I guess for the time being I will definitely have some lonely days and some lonely nights! I am looking forward to brighter days ahead.

menthu42....I am sorry that you had to witness the heartless, merciless people first-hand my friend. You and I can become kindred spirits to support one another through our dismal days. I will be sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. Stay strong and thanks for your advice.

Actually, pre-disco, the BeeGees had some very good songs!

I love all the BeeGee's music...they tell a number of great stories that I have related to my life. Keep your chin up. As hard as it sounds...things happen for a reason. I am not making excuses for him, but being and ex vet, war does make you look at life from a different perspective. But he is still wrong for treating you this way. SMILE, its cheep and it doesn't hurt.
