What's wrong with honesty?

First off, this isn't directed at one person or persons..just a bit of rant..
I mean, really...
If you're honestly not interested in someone, for whatever reason, wouldn't you rather hear it?
Personally I'm fine with it. At least I know where I stood. I'm me, I can't help who I am. I just got out of a situation in which I just acted like someone that everyone would like.Worked well for everyone except me.I know the game of "trying to impress". Sure it's natural not to be totally open with folks right away;if you don't at somepoint, someone's gonna tire of it and perhaps, not like what they see.
So in my mind, it's not rude to simply say "not interested" Maybe even if you explain why you're not interested you can perhaps shed a little light on the situation(ie. "you came on too strong for me", "Not attracted to you", or "I think you're weird")
What's rude is clicking on the "Ignore" without some explanation.
