Neat-nicks and the "habitually disorganized"...

I admit it, I like routine and structure. I like things to be efficient and well-managed. I don't like or do well in the midst of chaos.

If you were to look around my bedroom right now, you'd never know it. I have clean clothes unfolded, my desk has papers that desperately need to be filed, and I didn't make my bed this morning.

I know I should be neater and tidier in keeping up with things, but as long as I can find what I need 90% of the time, I don't feel the need to meticulously organize everything. Everyone has their own system, after all, and I know where I've got something stuck with relative precision.

Where my desire for structure and routine shows up is in my dealings with people. Particularly at work, but in my personal life too, I don't like having things sprung on me, and I can't stand people who are flighty or don't have their shit together, as my uncle might say. I've often wondered how my desire for order affects my sex life, whether it fuels my desire for experimentation, to want to try new things in bed. I know it probably influences why I like being spanked.

I've had relationships with people who were very particular about organizing their life and their stuff, and people who were free-spirits - slobs, even. My conclusion is that it was a crapshoot - some of the girls who were neat-nicks were fantastic lovers, very attentive, while others were incredibly mechanical and routine. The same with the disorganized bunch; some of them obviously were more interested in having fun than being orderly.

Do you find that you prefer order and routine to your sex? (Besides having it on a regular basis, we're not talking about that.) Or do you just go with the flow, and do whatever the mood strikes - whatever feels good?

I'd rather just go with the flow, and do whatever the mood strikes-whatever feels good.
