From Evil to Teen: A Queen's Story

As some of you have followed my posts you know that I have a 14yr old daughter. There have been many times in the past two and a half years that I didn't believe that she would reach the age of 14 since I was going to kill her and put me and the rest world out of our misery. I have it on good authority from Time Magazine's issue (Aug-9-05) that this seems to be the most difficult time in a kid's life. Really? Like Duh? I didn't need an article to tell me that! My daughter had a split personality for that period. She was so happy, she loved everyone and everything was perfect: or she hated everything and everybody. Hourly I didn't know which girl I would be dealing with. That's when I started calling her the Evil Queen. I would ask her if the Evil Queen was going to make a showing? Or why was I dealing with the Evil Queen when I would prefer to deal with my nice, reasonable, loving daughter? The Evil Queen also has a tongue on her sharp enough to cut an artery.
I have to say that she is starting to outgrow some of her Evil habbits. She has been a huge help around the house since her return from her summer residence (my parents'). Plus she really likes my lover. They are getting along wonderfully. She also started a new school which she really likes. No one has had to suture any wounds from her tongue lately either.

I am very surprised at the changes. I am also very pleased. But now I can't call her the Evil Queen and that kind of makes me sad since I enjoy calling her that. Maybe I'll just call her Teen Queen!!

I don't blame you for going on a cruise. I don't think I want to be anywhere around my daughter when those hormones hit.

really glad things are good for you, don't throw the evil queen title away, just store it for a while, i have 16 and 17 year old girls, and at times with out warning, the evil reappears for a short

Isn't it great how time spent with Grandma and Grandpa can straighten just about any one out!
