The Million Dollar View

The cottages that I stayed in with my family and all our dogs are on a farm near Apollo Bay. It is a working farm with sheep roaming the paddock right next to foreshore and the various cottages are set back up on the hill surrounded by thick bush. When I say thick bush, I mean it. If you went to walk up the hill which is at a 35 deg incline and decided to get off the path, well lets just say you would be lost and struggling to move by the time you were 5 metres off the track. I wont even begin to discuss the fire danger.

Anyway the cottages all have a truly magnificent view out over Bass Strait and The Southern Ocean beyond as Apollo Bay is just a few kilometres from Cape Otway which is the southern most point of West Coast Victoria.

Now people will say to you that a view is "a Million Dollar View" when they wouldn't know just how much the view was worth, but in the case of these cottages I can truly say they have a million dollar view so how can I justify my claim?

Easy. One of the cottages was sold recently with only a little parcel of land surrounding it and the price for the two bedroom cottage left only enough change out of $1Million to buy a nice car, not a luxury car.

So I reckon that the cottage I stayed in which had sweeping uninterrupted views over Bass Strait, totalling around 140 degrees of the compass, with sheep, walkers and waves to watch along the foreshore and fishing boats and shipping out to sea had to easily be worth the Million dollars.

As for whether I would fork out $1Million for the place, well I will be interested to hear your speculations.
