Back in town..

So the long part of vacation is over and what did we learn from this experience?
Driving 14 hours straight on no sleep in the middle of the night is a bad idea..for one. It seemed like such a good plan when i left DC at 8pm heading home. I had been up since 9am or so that morning so naturally by 4 or so my head was bouncing off of the steering wheel.

But i survived. Atlanta still sucked, for the last couple days i was there past the last post. Did some driving thru the Appalachian mountains, which wouyld have been very scenic the second day if not for all the freakin rain. Where the hell did that come from?
Stopped in DC to visit a long time 'on line' friend who i've known for 7 or 8 years i think and had dinner with him and then headed home. I95 is boring and ugly on its own, and much better to take at night so you dont have to view the bleakness of it all.
The only plus to the monsoon i drove in all the way home is that state troopers are unlikely to pull over speeders in it, and im not sure radar guns work when its raining that much so it was Nascar time on the wet highways! woowoo!

So thats it, the highlights of my trip...exciting in't it? Bank account is only down about 500 bucks in gas money, a little chuck of my windshield got left in Virginia where some rock hit it, and my truck is in dire need of an oil change which it rightfully deserves.

Carry on with more exciting reading somewhere else!
