Father's Day

we had our Father's Day celebration early (friday night to be specific)... which entailed the boys getting drunk, me having a mushroom/peanut butter sandwich (hehe) and running into a friend I hadn't seen in YEARS while randomly walking around downtown to get some OJ. was quite a night and had such a great time hanging out with my hubby - we don't get to see each other much lately so was a great mini-vacation for us. It was great to see Kari again, she was my roommate in college about 4 years ago and just about the most wonderful person you could hope to meet. She's finally getting on her own two feet and working as an editor for Lexus-Nexus so her degree is certainly paying off (in college she actually worked herself into an ulcer over school, so at least it got her somewhere). Which reminds me how badly I need to finish mine (just a couple semesters left, I'm almost there)... we hadn't seen each other in seriously about 2 years (was shortly before i got married which was 2 years this month) so we swapped #'s & such and can't wait to get together over caw-fee & bagels n talk about Ab Fab!

I also realized how much I miss traveling... beginning to think I might just want to put off the babies until I have traveled some more, but also not really wanting to be 50 when my kid(s) graduate H.S. Growing up I traveled constantly, (as my parents were missionaries)and even continued through college a little (never went home, always had a friend take me home for vacations so got to see NYC & IN/MI/WI/OH area quite a bit). So traveling is 2nd nature to me and road-tripping is still my favorite way to go as it seems more like an adventure and definitely less hassle (I can take nail-clippers if I want!). I have friends going to NYC & Chi-town soon and I'd about kill to go with them at this point after being stuck in this crappy-ass town for 3 years. Guess it is time for me to get up and out for a while before ultimately tying myself down....

That is a wise plan. Get some of your ya ya's out before settling in.

Is this just another trick by keithcancook
to get his text on television?

Do you sautee the mushrooms first, or just slice em and plant em?
