Do men treat women differently depending on where they live/grew up?

I am wondering what your opinion is on this matter. Do men treat woman differently, depending on where those men were raised or where they live? I am not talking about foreign countries. I am thinking that, depending on what region of the United States, a man will treat a woman differently. I have been told that Southern men are more respectful. In my personal experience, East coast men are generally more serious about work, play, etc. I am not trying to stereotype or make generalizations. I am only trying to find out what other men/women's opinion is on this matter. I have no intention to offend any person or region. I believe that one of the most wonderful things about this country is that we have a very diverse group of people and our differences is what makes life here so interesting. Thank you for your sincere opinions.

It depends HOW you were brought up much more than where.
