Turning the Negatives into Positives

Never one to wallow for long, I have been a busy gal today.

I made some calls and did some online hunting and it looks like I might be able to start back to school sooner than expected. I put in calls to some local colleges and filled out my financial aid forms.

My move to Iowa has been canceled and so I'll be enrolling right here in Washington this fall (if everything goes according to plan).

I figured it out and depending on how many of my credits they will transfer, I should have my BA within two years.

Y'know, sometimes all it takes is a little misfortune to help you get your priorities back on track.

Tis Iowa's loss...Way to go Mari!...What kind of degree are you pursuing?

rm_MariGrrl replies on 6/14/2006 10:14 am:
Secondary education... Social Studies (Psych, Poli Sci, and US History)

The cool thing about that degree is it parellels their pre-law program pretty closely. So, if for some reason I'm not happy as a teacher there's the possibility of Law School.

Life can be pretty hectic, so I always like to have a back-up plan.

Thanks Nor,

I've tried to go back so many times and something always gets in the way. Even if I can only start back part-time its better than nothing. I just need to get my foot back in the door.

The Swiss. You've never been there? It's just up the hill from UW of Tacoma. It's a great place. Lots of bands play there.

Sounds like I'll have to check it out sometime. I've only lived in Washington from about a year (actually it was exactly a year yesterday). So, there are a lot of places I havn't been to yet.

I'm so psyched I already got my report back on my financial aid and contacted a school right here on post that has accelerated courses for military and their dependents.
