Saying Good-bye

It's never easy to turn away from one that's entered your heart.
So scary is the path you take alone.
How do you know what is right when every choice feels so wrong?
How do you know what is wrong when your heart clouds your mind?

Is love a lie?
Is it better to hide from the pain, to protect your heart?
Or are those things in life worth having the ones we must fight for the most?
When all is said and done, did our hearts deceive us?

I don't have the strength to turn away.
Your love could hold me forever... if you love me.
If you can't love me...
Let me go!

"Or are those things in life worth having the ones we must fight for the most?"

Too true...I learned that lesson the hard way.
Hope your new path brings you happiness, love, and smiles.

I'm feeling better today. Just one of those moments of doubt and insecurity that like to sneak up from time to time. Thanks, Nor

OMG... so how sad is it that I would have actually recognized that quote even if you hadn't pointed out that it was from Cocktail. You did it again, n0ta! I couldn't help but smile

I have found that when you wall your heart up to protect it from the pain, you also keep it from feeling love.
I think it is better to keep it open and hope that the love recieved will be greater than the hurt inflicted.

But take it from me, it is really hard to do sometimes.

rm_MariGrrl replies on 6/8/2006 9:59 am:
Yeah, I've shut myself off in the past. Not willing to chance feeling anything because I figured I would just hurt in the end. But, you're right. Life is too short to always play it safe and the heart will do what it wants anyway. Thanks

Love is never a lie. The expression... sometimes. Forever after... not always. If you feel or have felt it... how can it not be or have been real? Forever, to me, is always subject to change.

You're already past the point where you were when you posted this which is way cool.

But I always think that it's a delicate issue. Our heart is guided by what it's fed. If the other person feeds it lies then disaster is the only outcome.

You reap what you sow. Just sometimes you don't know exactly what you're sowing.

Yeah ok. I probably shoulda just said nothing.

rm_MariGrrl replies on 6/8/2006 10:14 pm:
No, I apprecitate the comment. We do reap what we sow. But, sometimes even knowing the outcome could cause pain... its still worth the journey to get there.

(What the fuck is this shit..?? *rolls eyes*)

If you can't love me...
Let me go!

Now thats beautiful...Ready

rm_MariGrrl replies on 6/8/2006 10:15 pm:
Thank you, Ready. I think that's the hardest part of relationships... knowing when to fight, when to let go, and when to just hold on to hope.

I'm trying to be more hopeful.

norprin's advice is the best ... but i do think love is a lie actually. the definition we've created for it anyway. oh. shit. just noticed your hopeful comment to ready. yeah. go with hopeful.

rm_MariGrrl replies on 6/9/2006 8:36 am:
Thanks. I'm starting to wonder, though, if maybe I just set too high of expectations for the men in my life. I'm remaining hopeful, but, trying to be more realistic as well.
