I've never....

seen the ocean (even though I now live in Washington)

seen the Gulf of Mexico (even though I used to live in Louisiana)

been on a real vacation

totally let myself trust in another

met most of my family (only child raised by a single mom)

been able to tell my Grandma that she is the bravest most amazing woman I've ever known (she passed away this year and I can only pray that she knew how I felt anyway)

confronted the man who molested me as a child

gone shopping just to get something for myself that I don't really need, but, have always wanted

had a home to call my own (my parents divorced when I was 2 and we lived with various family members while I was growing up, lately its been from one military post to the next)

felt completely safe and at peace

given up on doing on all things I've never done

sounds like you have a pretty good list going there. Something just have to be planned out slowly to make sure that you'll get your wishes. As for your grandmother. I'm sure that she is somewhere watching you and smiling at how wonderful of person you have brown up to be. I lost my grandmother 2 years ago this May, and I still miss her, she is much like yours, the strongest woman I have ever met and made me feel special everytime I had the pleasure of talking with her on the phone. As she got older, when ever I would call she would talk about my phone call with for weeks on end. Grandmothers are the wisest and the greatest women alive.

Best of luck with your list, your gramdmother is watching you and wishing you the best.

Damn skippy. There's a whole world out there even still for you....and the best one? That's when you are gonna be a grandma. You have seen how to do it from the best, after all....and that's not going to be a "never" to add to this list.

Hugs to ya, survivor and thriver.
