Hunting The Easter Bunny

I had another shooting lesson today. This time Mini-Mari went with me. My friend that is taking me out to the range was kind enough to offer to give my daughter a shooting lesson as well. We had a great time. I gotta say my kid is a natural.

Since my supply of happy meal toys (they make great targets) is limited, Mini-Mari and I began discussing alternative targets. Well, with Easter coming up I couldn't help but think of all the stuffed bunnies we have from years past. And I came up with an idea for our next shooting adventure. I am going to line the fur of these stuffed bunnies with ketchup and shoot the hell out of them. Twisted... maybe. Entertaining... most likely. I'm not really into hunting and don't think I could ever kill a live animal, but blasting the shit out of the Easter Bunny sounds like fun. Especially with the added special effects.

My friends always say I should find some new hobbies. They probably didn't mean bludgeoning innocent toy critters. But, hell, I've never really been one to do anything the normal way.

Let me stress just one more time for the record that the animals I will be shooting are not and never were alive. No real animals will be harmed. So please don't call PETA on me or send me hate mail!

WEll Mari,
When it come to hunting wild and wooley creatures sometimes you have to start with the basics of killing what has been created. While I'm sure you are enjoying your shooting lessons and the feeling of the supreme power in your hands while shooting, there are serious responsibilities associated witht eh sport of shooting eithe rfor sport or for putting meat on the table.. As a avid hunter and shooter myself I have been shooting guns longer than I can remember. The military has been kind by suppling a 15 year supply of ammo, but the real enjoyment comes from sharing the sport with new people and watching thier expressions from learning and the pure enjoyment....

Have fun shooting and keep an eye on your target and beyond.

Ooooh, great idea! Ketchup!

So, what caliber is appropriate for stuffed Wabbits?

Personally, I'd go for massive overkill. Nothing says "die motherfucker" better than a 180 grain 30 caliber package of love at 2600 feet per second.

Happy hunting...

Well, in reality, I can't see spending ~$.50 per Wabbit, either.

Ruger Mk1 .22 semiauto pistol most likely. More challenging with a pistol...
