Why sit here alone?

I was thinking...rarely a good thing...& wondered: How many folks are sittin' at home alone when they'd really appreciate another there? Not necessarily sexual, just there to talk with, eat, watch tv, etc. Either gender, it seems. I know several ladies doing the same. Why do we do that?
A mid-week evening, or a Sat. night, or Sun. afternoon...why not call someone & meet, & not be alone? But no, we sit & watch tv alone. That's kinda weird. If we didn't like company, we wouldn't be here!

perhaps we fear it will make us seem desperate, pathetic, lonely and pitiful... or perhaps, sometimes, the quiet and solitude is needed for the healing of the soul... nah, probably the former, lol... seriously, don't we all want everyone to think we're having this marvelous, fun-filled, hectic life that they should envy? just my two cents worth ... I think you are right one.
I think we are all looking for various types of companionship but we are afraid to take a risk and meet with others. My experience with this site is that many are interested in various things but do not have the courage to follow through. After almost giving up, I met a great lady on here, but I never thought it would happen. We are now ready to play as a couple but so hard to meet others, especially couples. I know there are a million others like you and me but they will not take the risk, especially the ladies.
