Military Family Life: Divorce

Women/Men who decide to pursue a relationship with an active duty military member or active duty reservist should really understand what they are getting themselves into. A self-analysis should be conducted of themselves and the first question HONESTLY asked should be, "Okay. Can I handle him/her being away for months on end?" One would think this would be common sense. Surpringly, however, it is not, for it is usually within the first 30 days that relationships start to unravel due to the absence.

Oh, I agree with your comments totally. Unfortunately it is they youn'uns that HAVE to immediately get married once enlisted. Newly married young girlsm separated from Mommy and Daddy for the first time are certainly in for a suprise.

As a disclaimer, I am NOT saying all are have that issue, but a large majority do.
