coursing

I love to disc golf. I used to play in my hometown when I was a kid, but after age 10 or so, I stopped.

When I moved back to town in '01, I started playing again the following summer. I wasn't working, so I went just about every day. I've gotten to be pretty good at it, but it's kind of like how I am at pool. Sometimes I'll pull off some great shots, and other times I couldn't make a shot to save my life, but most of the time I'm in that consistent middle area.

One thing I like about this area is the abundance of courses. There's probably 6 courses within 20 minutes of my place, and another couple a little farther than that.

So this morning I packed up my bag and hit the road, going to 3 different courses and shooting 45 holes total. I did about as I expected considering it's my first time out this year. Lots of rust. I was way above par all day, but oh well. I did hit back-to-back-to-back birdies late in my last round, so there was one bright spot.

It just felt good to be out, and the weather, despite some rain, looks good enough to get out a few more times this week.

I was looking forward to this all winter.

I think if you guys don't bring this up as a great idea for a get together I WILL. I am sure there has to be a disc golf course over here somewhere. That would be great fun. The town I GREW up in had one. I played some but was never that great. Would be fantastic though to have a get together at a park on the weekend and let people make their own weekend from there.
