Ladies it's okay to enjoy it too!

I was eavesdropping on two young women today, while dining out at the mall. It wasn’t intentional but our booths were back to back and I couldn’t help but overhear bits and parts of their conversation. I desperately tried not to listen but I found what they were discussing quite too interesting to tune out.

One of the young women had recently started a sexual relationship with someone new, and she was telling her friend how exciting this person was, she went about describing in detail how they did The Nasty as she referred to act of having sexual intercourse. Never once did she say we made love, or that we shagged, screwed, or even fucked but each time she mentioned sex she called it The Nasty.

I had to smile thinking back to the days when I too thought that sex was a nasty, dirty shameful act that had to hidden or kept secret. I was actually surprised that in these days and times that young people still refer to having sex as something dirty or shameful, especially after shows like Sex in the City, Queer As Folks, and the L Word has been practically shoved down the throats of millions of viewers nationwide.

Some how I get the impression that women’s right and the sexual revolution of the sixties and seventies didn’t quite make their marks.

Isn't it amazing? Shagged is a new one to me but having 4 children ranging in age from 24-13 we talk alot about sex and what a responsibility it is. I have always told my children it is the most beautiful thing in the world when handled responsibily.

By the way both my sons lost their virginity after 18! My 16 year old daughter toyed with the idea but I don't know how honest she is so I call her celibate because what ever took place she just came to me and said she understood why I call it (sex) a responsibilty she's not ready yet and my 13 year old daughter says she want to know but she'll do it by herself until shes ready for the responsibilty. She's discovered masturbation and is comfortable with it and to that end she considers herself a virgin. Go figure?

Thanks PJ your kids should consider themselves very lucky to have a mother like yourself. I too educated my children (Daughter 34 and Son 2 at an early age and I was very pleased at how they handled the responsibility of sex and their own sexuality. I taught them that the human body was a beautiful work of art and to appreciate what God had given them. Both of my kids managed to complete college and marry before starting their families.

In return for my teachings I am now the proud grandmother of four beautiful little girls and one very mischievous little boy.

btw one of girlfriends is British and often uses the word shagged in terms of discussing sexual intercourse it’s they version of saying FUCK..lol sounds a little cleaner then our version but I'm thinking that if you said it there it would be tantamount to saying fucked here.
