Rescue Me!!!

Save me from...

My loneliness...
my self imposed singularity...
while I heal and become whole.

My bereavement...
for the absent intimacy
that can develop...
between a man and a woman.

The lack of conversation...
matching wit to wit...
the pleasure of
social interchange...
the mental stimulation...
so much enjoyed.

The lack of physical contact
touch to touch
flesh to flesh...
heart to heart.

My empty bed...
with only myself or
a book to keep me company...
the TV...just a distraction
not often watched.

Dreams are all well and good
even meetings on the astral plane
help to add some spice...
but can never take the place
of the physical senses
partaking of the feast.

But...even though...
I ask you to save me...
I know I have to save myself...
not by giving in...
but by being open...
and welcoming...
to what you offer of yourself.

While I'm not religious...I am open to wisdom where I find it. The bible...although changed many times...still holds many grains of wisdom. "For everything there is a season" I believe there are times we need to be alone...to lie fallow...if you will. It may be that we need to heal...to work on something within ourselves...for further development and growth. Yes...I get lonely sometimes. But think about the many relationships in which people are still lonely...in spite of being with someone. By choosing to be by myself at this time...I think I've learned to be MORE sensual...and to appreciate myself and my own sensuality and sexual abilities and power...if you will. I've been learning about ME...and how wonderful I am. Use your alone time...to discover your own power and beauty.

Your question about Orisha - an Orisha is a guardian spirit...rather like the guardian angels that Christians believe in. Oshun is the Orisha that is associated with sensual delights...beauty...love...as well as sweet waters...and other areas of every day life.

I am familiar with a song of the same title...but this song was a hit on the soul charts in the mid-sixties...written and recorded by Fontella Bass. It was also recorded by Melissa Manchester in the mid-seventies and became a hit for her also.

I have very eclectic tastes in music...if it's good...I'll listen no matter what genre. The one by the Judds...is this one you recommend?
