MY LONELY GUITAR...
MY LONELY GUITAR...
§ My guitar has been lonely for a long time. Poor baby. It's been very patient with me..for a few years now. A friend had it restrung for me..even bought a new case for it. Since that time..it's just been sitting in the corner..waiting.
I took lessons when I was very young..don't remember much from those lessons. Also took piano and violin for a brief period. But I've wanted to come back to the guitar...put some of my prose and poetry to music. Haven't used my singing voice in years. But feeling more and more like my guitar and singing would be a great outlet for me..another way of expressing myself. Oh I have no illusion or desire to perform in public. Just the action of playing and singing..is a healing kind of energy.
There are also other musical instruments around me..an African thumb piano..a rain stick..a flute..a drum..a harmonica. From time to time..I just pick one to make a sound with..it's voice strikes a responding cord within me. Sometimes..I use the sound to begin my meditation.
I love classical guitar..and blues..jazz..rock. The sound of the blues played on a guitar..makes me horny..rock..depending on who it is and the song..makes me feel sexy..the jazz..puts me in a contemplative state of mind. It's the classical that sometimes brings tears to my eyes..that seems to reach deep inside.
Hum..maybe..I'll look for an on-line guitar course to take.

If you find a good one, could you share?
A buddy loaned me his 25 year old Ovation acoustic about 6 months ago. He showed me G, D, and C in about 5 minutes... and that is the extent of my training. I've picked up a few things on line, practice a lot of scales, but I've yet to feel I've really "learned" anything. I'm not about to pay for lessons. (Dude, I know I'm 37, but really, I'm the next Randy Rhodes, trust me!) I've always wanted to learn and, like you, am doing it only for myself.
Rock on, Chica!
Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...

Hello Ms. Kiss...|
I agree about the healing energy.
Hmmm.... given some of those feelings you mention there, most likely, you'll be wantin' [pun intended] a guitarist, not just a guitar!
Of course, there's nothing wrong with learning to play your own guitar and that might be a good way to meet that guitarist! (sorry, I don't play. Not the guitar, anyhow
By the way, maybe you could put my new poem to song, or at least chant it and see how it sounds. All my stuff is written for the spoken word (sumptin' about Dan Quayle, donchaknow!) Yes, there's really nothing wrong with "moving your lips" when you read my stuff!
Please have a look at To the Lady in the Tower. And have you contemplated yet your answer to me regarding the young lady for whom I wrote this "Tower" poem?

Don't feel too bad...I haven't taken my guitar out of the corner in 3 long months.
As for online courses...there are a few really great sites that I've used for free lessons. Guitar Tips...Guitar Noise...Supersonic...
They all have their distinct differences but each great in it's own way.
I think I'm gonna have to take a page from your book and pick my guitar back up...My energy is very unbalanced lately and it is truly theraputic just to hold her (Lita-my guitar-named after Lita Ford).

A little lady passing by|
A little wink of the eye
A little smile, a little date
To meet you when the hour is late.
A secret not to tell
A little room in some motel
Alittle mussing of the hair
A little fussing in the chair.
A little kiss, a warm embrace
A little question answered yes
A little brassiere laid aside
A little breast that tried to hide.
A little hand that come a stealing
A little place with a funny feeling
A little coaxing, a little teasing
A form revealed that's most pleasing.
A little heaving in the gloom
A little sigh in a quiet room
A little dimming of the light
A little bed with sheet so white.
Two little arms that cripple tight
And when I ask does it feel alright?
She smiles and say, "it feels good"
I laugh and say, " I know it would!"
A little pillow in the head
Slipped beneath the hips instead
Two little heart beat as one
Two little lovers having fun!
Two little eyes look into mine
To little lovers sweating fine
A little movement to and fro
A little "Ah", A little "Oh".
A little effort to repeat
A little spot at the sheet
A little hugging and finally then
A little breakfast at half past ten!
A little call, a little tip
A little porter wishing a pleasant trip
a little weariness the next day
Like little children after play!
a little wish that you and I
Will be together, by and by!

Just hold it when you can't play it.|
Play it when you can.
Don't worry if it's good enough.
Just enjoy your time together.
