I Don't Like Being Pimped..

A while back I did a post Cars That Run On Used Cooking Grease!! that talked about people running their cars on something other than oil derived fuel. I also posted it on another site I belong to. Well..a gentleman responded recently..to that same post.. on that other site. It's a very enlightening response. I'm passing on the information every chance I get and to everyone I know. I don't know about you..but I'm sick of being lied to and pimped by the oil companies.

A tip to get better gas milage..
There are things that can be done to gas engines to get better milage. We've been so focused on the price of gas no one has zeroed in on the main reason profits are up.

They have reduced the octane in the gas therefore you burn more. Thats why you have been pulling into the fuel station more often. The one thing I found to boost octane and give a cleaner burn is acetone. This is a highly volital paint thinner that be found in the paint section of any hardware store. 8 ounces pert tank full and you will immediately see the difference.

I've made the shift to a car that can run on used vegetable oil, but thank you for sharing that!

I'm checking out acetone!

Well, just be careful. Acetone is just as flameable as gasoline and to be measuring it out and getting it into a gas tank can be a bit dangerous.

I will take my medicine knowing I need to cut down on my usage of gasoline anyway.

I wouldn't try acetone. Gasoline is a mix of a range of hydro carbons in the right balance to get several properties correct, of which octane is only one property. I don't think this guy knows what he is talking about.

Certain dragsters/funny cars run alchocol, but unless the engine was designed for it, you can just say "I think I'll try alchohol in my car today".

Don't have a lot of time..but I do want to thank all of you for stopping by and commenting.

A couple of you have expressed concern about the flammable nature of acetone..which concerns me also. It occurred to me that race car drivers must use something to boost their car's performance. Sure enough..they do. Ever hear of Toluene or Xylene?

To the ladies..especially. If you use nail polish..then you're familiar with nail polish remover. Nail polish remover is acetone! Personally..if I decide to use it..I would opt for that rather than paint thinner. Easier to handle and pour.

Also..there are some folks out there who have used acetone and claim a 35% increase in gas mileage. There are also some who claim it can cause damage to the fuel lines..hoses..etc.

I would suggest you some research for yourselves..before trying it.

I also refer you to the next post. Posted by permission of the author..per his post.
