BOB MARLEY INSPIRATION

Often I will listen to reggae..Bob Marley..most often. Something I've noticed about his lyrics..is that he has songs that fit almost every situation. His words inspire and encourage. No matter what your background..race..color..etc..it doesn't matter. There is some song..lyrics that you can relate to. He seems to particularly hold dear..the common man..just the regular she or he. The following song lyrics seem to speak particularly to today..and what is going on in the world..and here in the US of A.

Get Up, Stand Up

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right (3 times)
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight

Preacher man don't tell me heaven is under the earth
I know you don't know what life is really worth
Is not all that glitters in gold and
Half the story has never been told
So now you see the light, aay
Stand up for your right.
Come on

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
(Repeat)

Most people think great God will come from the sky
Take away ev'rything, and make ev'rybody feel high
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth
And now you see the light
You stand up for your right, yeah!

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up. Life is your right
So we can't give up the fight
Stand up for your right, Lord, Lord
Get Up, Stand Up. Keep on struggling on
Don't give up the fight

We're sick and tiredof your ism and skism game
Die and go to heaven in Jesus' name, Lord
We know when we understand
Almighty God is a living man
You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
So now we see the light
We gonna stand up for our right

So you'd better get up, stand up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight.

Yes..We'd better get up..stand up..for our rights. At this point in time..they seem to be under concentrated attack.

Kiss

All of our rights are under attack in some shape, or another. Before long it is possible to be living in some state of Nazi regime, If we do not stand up for our rights while we still possess them

Marley is a wonderful musician too

I like Marley a lot.

Don't worry...there are a lot of us who quietly observe what's going on...and will stand up when the times call for it.

I agree that our rights are, without doubt, under attack. Bob Marley is one of my all time musicians....He was so before his time but his music is timeless.

dont forget another great figure in music of whom marley said; 'he say it right...he say it true' (he was refering of course to Bob Dylan)

Great song! I had every album he made and even one or two by the "I-Threes" (Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt, and.... hmmmmmm...the third I, I have forgotten).

Another old time great that applies to our times is... "It Can't Happen Here," by Frank Zappa.
