Blahday

OK. I feel like I've done my "obligatory" sex piece and gotten it over and done. Now it's back to the more mundane aspects of life. Today has been was one of those "blah" days, where I really didn't feel like doing anything. I accomplished my usual Sunday cleaning ritual, even though I wasn't into that. So I thought what the heck, I'll watch "Alexander" which I bought on dvd. I wanted to see at the movies, but never made it. I'm a sucker for historical stuff, especially anything involving casts of thousands.
In a nutshell, I thought the movie "sucked".
By the end, the only character I could work up any sympathy for was Bucephalus. Bucephalus was Alexander's horse. He wasn't conflicted about his sexual orientation, didn't have an agenda, and was loyal to the very end. And there is something about Angelina Jolie that drives me wild. She played Alexander's mother. She did a good job portraying a scheming mother slash nag. But it's those lips! It's like they have a life of their own, they seem so huge! I can't get past them. I feel the same way about them as if I were talking to someone who had a large facial defect, trying not to stare but at the same time, not being able to keep myself from staring.
Once again I was reminded of Hollywood's fixation on homosexual and homoerotic themes. Out of all the possible underlying themes that could have been chosen, such as his desire for greatness, the conflict of western and eastern cultures, the bond of the companions, the struggle for power, this is the one they picked. At least I could cheer for the horse. Next time I'll watch "Braveheart". At least Mel Gibson knows how to make a hero look heroic.

I've never seen the movie, nor do I want to now. Except maybe to see the horse

Braveheart, now, that's a different story. Love that dang movie. But, then again, I still love Mel Gibson. Especially the Lethal Weapon movies. I can watch those over and over...

THEY FUCK YOU IN THE DRIVE-THROUGH Heh Heh. Gotta love Joe Pesci, too...

So, how was Chicago? Did ya wave towards Hinsdale??

Leaving tomorrow, 5:30am., back in a week. Rest assured, I shall not forget to wave, nor forget to have that slice of pizza in your honor.
Haven't seen a Mel Gibson movie that I didn't like. Can't say the same for Oliver Stone, though.
