Oops! I Did It Again...

Well, it seems like I pissed someone else off. She was an email buddy that I had for years. She's really big into American Patriotism. She's always sending me patriotic emails and things about illegal immigrants and not speaking English, soldiers, blah, blah, blah.

Well, I shot her off an email about how I feel about America right now. And how I've been treated by agencies that I paid my tax money into and now need their help but can't get it. I won't go into it in this post. Heaven forbid that I piss off other people!

She sent me an email stating that it was nice knowing me. So, I immediately blocked her from sending me emails and removed her from my address book.

I feel like this, if someone is a true friend, they won't let a difference of opinion about America or anything else come between them. This is a free country with an ammendment for free speech. I exercised my right to say what I felt. Whether she agreed or not was totally up to her. But why kick me to the curb over my opinion? I didn't always agree with what she sent to me but I never, ever rebuked her for it. She was exercising her right to free speech. And I respected that.

From now on, I will be careful about who I choose to let into my life. Usually I didn't make a big deal about that. I accepted people for who they were. Except of course, druggies, pedophiles, criminals, child abusers, women abusers, arrogant and cocky people, racists, nut jobs, psychic vampires (people who suck you dry of your emotions and have nothing to give back) and people who just creep me out.

I intend to surround myself with people who care about me as I do them. People who can agree to disagree with me on touchy subjects. People who add something to my life and vice-versa. People who are real and don't play games. People who respect me for who I am and vice-versa. Is that too much to ask? I don't ask for what I'm not willing to give.

So, if I somehow manage to piss you off. Please be adult enough to bring it to my attention. I can be very opinionated at times. But my intent is never to harm or offend anyone.

Ciao!

You pissed me off. You never write, you don't post enough, you still haven't... oh wait... wrong blog

M'dear, if someone "gets pissed off" at you, then they have some serious issues.

You're too sweet of a strong person to piss anyone off.

Hey Sista Girl!

It's wonderful as always to have you visit my blog. You know, I explained my situation to her and told her why I was not happy with America right now. Did she care about me? NO! It only mattered to her that I had insulted America. You should have seen some of the emails she sent me bashing people who didn't speak English. I told her that it didn't matter to me if people spoke English or not. They would eventually learn. She would have none of that. She also has a problem with commercials in other languages. That smacks of intolerance to me. Good riddance to her and her narrow mind! But, believe it or not, I have other email buddies sending me the same kinds of emails! The Netherlands is looking better than ever to me.

I believe that she would be patriotic regardless of what is done. She could be getting fucked in the ass and still be waving her flag and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. That's what happens when you blindly follow something or someone, no matter how wrong they are. Sad! Sad! Sad!

I agree wholeheartedly with you about America taking care of her own before venturing out of the country to help others. Why can't we get some help first? We're the ones providing the money for them to use on other countries. The saying goes, "Charity begins at home." Maybe the powers-that-be haven't heard of that saying. Or worse, they could care less. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Well enough about this shit! Thanks for your posts. I always look forward to your visits.

Hugs!

Sounds as though you may be better off without this particular "friend." You took the high road on this one. Well done. I wish verbal disputes would not end friendships. It'd be a nicer world, wouldn't it?

rm_KarmoHunny replies on 7/27/2006 6:42 pm:
Hey Frank,

I do believe you are right about being better off without her. I just have to contend with my other email "friends" who send me the same type of emails. You know the ones about Muslims and Allah, etc. The way I see it is like this, we had a "friendship" as long as I didn't go against what she believes in. Which means there was no friendship. My beliefs and opinions didn't matter. So the dispute ended our association. It would be a nicer world if verbal disputes didn't end friendships. But I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hugs Sweetie!

Hi G,

The association is over. She will not apologize because she thinks she is right. I wouldn't want her to apologize to me anyway. I see her for who she is and want nothing more to do with her. She can find people who think like her to buddy up with.

Thanks for your post!

wow, ive been told so many times this month how much i "creep people out" so i guess i will be soon booted out

But if you choose to keep me, i will let you know that you have my permission to say ANYTHING you want about ANY SUBJET, and that even means that you can say the Burning Bush is great...(which he isnt)

I will always support your right to speak your mind, and keep your opinions, and to keep or loose any friends you want... i just hope you choose to keep me cause i like you alot

rm_KarmoHunny replies on 7/29/2006 6:18 pm:
Wolfey my friend, of course I'll be keeping you. You haven't creeped me out so far. You've been nothing but kind, caring and supportive of me. I appreciate that very much!

You will NEVER, EVER get any message or posting from me touting the greatness of Dubya! And, I definitely won't be disrespecting or offending you on your blog. If we ever have some sort of disagreement, I'd rather we "talk" via email and straighten it out that way. I'm not into drama.

Big Hugs!

PS-I like you a lot also.

KarmoHunny...
Yes, one should always try hard to be tolerant of another's opinion. In fact, one cannot be tolerant without disagreement, since one can't be tolerant when one agrees. At a minimum, one should be civil... and hopefully, friendly and enlightening.
One great thing about America is that we understand that diversity of thought, is a right, not a privilege. *smiling*

I agree with you. People should at least be civil to one another if possible. Thanks for visiting my blog, Sir Mounts.
