On Blogging: Need Direction

Yes, tonight's the night! my blogging cherry is about to be popped and you, dear (and probably few!) readers are about to bear witness! I hope it doesn't make too much of a mess! lol.

Last night was my first night viewing and responding to the blogs on AdultFriendFinder. I was lured here from the AL by a dynamic Texas twosome. You gentlemen know who you are In spite of this, I feel somewhat lost. I am unsure of the etiquette when it comes to blogging. While a member may set his or her blog for all members to respond, do they really want a quasi-stranger who they have at best seen on the AL, at worst who just chanced upon their private ramblings, to respond? I feel somewhat inhibited to reply to someone with whom I have not at least exchanged an e-mail. Is this normal?

I recently read a post about the loss of a big brother. While my soul was moved, I felt awkward expressing condolences to someone with whom I have not directly made contact. It seemed too much like a stranger on the street walking up to someone and addressing his private affairs. If something is posted in cyber-space does that give everyone out there the right to respond if they feel moved? Am I being too old-fashioned on this one? What do you think? I am really in need of direction… Thanks!

Blogland is a great place to be so welcome to the family. Some of us come to pour our hearts out, talk about our lives both good and bad, talk about the job, the spouse, the trails of real life, other times its all about the laughs. You will find every blog is different but good in it's own way. If people do not want you to post a comment they can turn that part off. If they have not turned it off then feel free to post if you are comfortable doing so. you will see soon enough that we are mostly a great big friendly bunch of people.

    Aboutme,
Thanks for the welcome! I noticed you on ITB4U's blogs; I have to admit, it does feel like one big, happy family. I guess it is just the newness, like meeting the in-laws for the first time! Everyone else knows the "family's" quirks and history; I'm the interloper just trying to figure things out.
God I hope it is nothing like meeting inlaws !!!!! Nobody here is an interlopper. Glad you commented on the addiction post... And yes sooner or later you too will be singing the I am addicted song. lol.

I was just cruising through some of the new blogs, and ran onto yours.
Being new I know how you feel, I just posted my 19th and 20th tonight.
But just jump in there, is all I can tell you, it gets easier. You'll have more people check things out, then you'll get some regular readers, and it just goes from there. I post about anything I feel like, sometimes about my last sexual experience, sometimes about my daughter, and sometimes just stuff. And if you don't mind, I'll look at your blog as much as I can. Good luck.
