On Being a Girl

About a week ago I took one of those kinda silly, but fun polls purporting to devine what percentage of girl/boy you are. Of course, upon reading the questions, it's quite obvious which answers will lead to a particular result. Still, in my case, the information contained in the final answer was quite accurate. Alas, I'm only 20% girl. No big surprise there; I've known for some time that I'm not TS. However, I found myself feeling a bit disappointed and began to wonder just what it is about being a girl that I find so appealing.

Years ago, the answer would have been simple: dressing as a girl was a huge turnon. I don't really know why; it just was. These days that sort of thrill is gone, but it's been replaced by a feeling just as intense: the feeling of being home. The poll may say I'm only 20% girl, but lately I'm happiest when I'm a girl.

For one thing, being a girl is just plain more fun: Clothes are more colorful and varied, strangers are more apt to start a conversation with you and people are generally nicer to you, and you can change your whole look with some simple changes to your makeup or hair. In comparison, being a guy is boring.

Being a girl is more relaxing too. Guys have to be in charge and showing emotion is frowned on. Being a girl actually allows me more freedom to just be myself. Perhaps it's a bit like taking a mini vacation - from myself.

I dunno. I suppose each has it's advantages. Wonder if my perspective would change if I were to live as a woman full-time for a week or so? I suspect it would. Until that happens though, I'll just content myself with the best of both world's. My wife tells me she's sometimes jealous of my ability to move from gender to gender and that's it's not fair that I get to experience all of the positives, with few of the negatives. Perhaps she's right.

Cheers,
Jocelyn

I would get too confused if I tried switching around like that. I'd probably go out absentmindedly in a dress with boxers underneath and sneakers on my feet!

(and makeup on only half my face)
