Remember the Future

I remember you so clearly. It was such a beautiful day, all sun and flowers and bees buzzing lazily about. You were there at the top of the hill and I was at the bottom wondering who you were.
I remember your auburn hair floating in the spring zepher and that perfect smile that welcomed without a word. Your eyes glimmered with joyous abandon. You were intoxicating even from that distance.
Your arms seemed to float as easily as your hair, such was your grace. The gauzy summer dress you wore covered your body while revealing so much of the freedom and expression that poured out of your face.
Without a thought, I knew that you were all I needed in this world. I knew that you were the one for me and that I could love you forever, no matter the circumstances.
Too bad you were only a dream...
A dream I will never know.

Yeah, pretty damned sure at this point. Though I know it's possible, I'm fresh out of optimism on this particular subject.

well, if its gonna happen, it will happen with or without your optimism

a friend of mine recently said that this pressure on us all to be happy is just more of the bullshit farce, making us responsible for things over which we have no control. he has decided that part of his political resistance is resisting the necessity to conform to the "happiness" machines ... however, as i said to him, i hope that does not mean that sometimes you do not find joy!

Well, I can agree with your friend, but for me there is an aspect of companionship that is not superfluous but essential.
