Farce

I was sitting in a despairingly empty diner, sipping at a cup of ichor-like coffee and staring blankly out the window. Rain streaked the glass and bounced off the sidewalk. How long I stared out that window, I couldn't tell you, but my half cup of joe was cold when I next put it to my lips. What jolted me back to reality was the image of a couple arguing in front of their car. Lights on, running, and they are in the rain screaming at each other.
Nobody chooses to live like that. So why do we live those ways? He isn't happy, and neither is she. Come to think of it, I'm not all that happy either.
I left a couple of bills on the table and meandered out the door, bells jingling as it swung closed.
Outside I could barely hear the rain striking asphalt, drown as it was by the sound of arguing lovers. Lovers? The volleys of myriad insult sounded little like something I would call love.
I walked down an alley and looking up into the cascade said a silent prayer to anyone willing to answer.
"Dear God, how long?
How long until this whole farce comes crashing down around us?"
And the rain beat mercilessly on my skin.

Is God going to save us?

"I walked down an alley and looking up into the cascade said a silent prayer to anyone willing to answer.
'Dear God, how long?
How long until this whole farce comes crashing down around us?'
And the rain beat mercilessly on my skin."

The implication being that the only response I recieved was the rain (metaphor for human misery) continued.
I write a lot into this stuff, please PLEASE don't take it at surface value. If you take it for what it appears to be at first, you will always miss something...

i just read the post above "Title" first.

i really do hope you find solace in your writing, because it is quite beautiful. and my sense is that if you continue to explore this side of your life, you will succeed at last in finding your heart's true desire, even though it might be a long and dark road right now.
