Love is a myth

I've just come out of a 5.5-year relationship and discovered that love is really a myth. Everyone knows it exists, but have they really experienced it. I've had long relationships in the past and I have had "loved" them all but why does it always end? My conclusion is that it doesn't really exist. We lust, then enjoy, then try to figure out what makes us compatible, just to discover that it's not going to work out and you've wasted time, take the divorce figures for example. I would really like to get a different view on this (prove me wrong).

Love's just unfortunately not always mutual and that's the part about it that sucks. I don't really think there's a way to prove you wrong. Everyone has their own opinions. Trust me I've questioned it before myself but I still believe in it. I too have given a lot in relationships that have sadly not gone anywhere but because I may have not been loved back.....but I did love.

I like your view of LOVE, and in some way agree, but is it Love or just caring and compassion then? I also thought that I "loved" but now I'm just pondering on the meaning of it all.
