Portion II of tonight's endless mumblings.

This subject is a little more serious, so if you're not in the mood to read anymore about the hurricane or if you're sick of the entire subject, move on. Thank you, this was a public service announcement.

I will often listen to WCBM at work (which I think has to be *the* most politically biased radio station in the region, but sometimes it's a good thing to hear what lunatics on the other side have to say on occasion), and so I was listening to... I cannot remember which show it was - all that I know is that the guy was certifiably NUTS, sounded like Hitler screaming English into a microphone - but for *once*, this guy brought up a good point. And it was this...

If you had suffered a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina - and you were stuck in the situation that those people are in now - would you go out and steal food and water to keep yourself alive? Or would you starve because stealing is essentially wrong?

Now, I'm not talking about taking radios and high-def TVs or anything like that - we all *know* that's the wrong thing to do and no one that I know condones that type of behavior. So let's ignore that for a second.

I'm talking about the basics. Bread, water, produce. Diapers. To a certain extent, even medications - basic, simple things that are needed to survive. What would you do in a situation like this, where you're trapped in a city that's more or less turned into Atlantis? Where dead bodies are floating like cordwood in the streets? Where other people's shit floats right along next to them? What would you do?

I have read a couple of blogs here where the attitude is more or less, "Shoot 'em on sight! They're thieves, criminals, they don't deserve to live..." You know what my response is to that? It's really, really easy for all of us to sit here comfortably in our dry clothes and our full bellies discussing this - it's really, really easy to sit in judgement upon these people, isn't it? Especially when we'll go to bed at night on a soft mattress and wrapped in a comfy blanket?
I'll remember those of you who have said these words when your turn comes to sleep on the highway, when your turn comes to decide whether or not you're going to survive another day in the heat, the stink, the putridness. When the sun rises and you haven't eaten in three days. When you're forced to wait in a hot, stinking stadium with no sanitation and people dropping where they stand. When the gubmint breaks promises to you over and over again.

I do not blame these people one little bit for what they have to do. As far as I'm concerned, let them take all the fucking bread they want. They were *abandoned* by everyone and left to starve and die - do you really think the people who got out of there give a flying fuck about those left behind? They're more concerned about their property values - that is, if there's any property left to go back to. The gubmint needs to get OFF of their collective asses and get these people OUT of there! Time is not on their side, folks - we're talking oppressive heat, mosquitoes, the stench and stink of dead bodies and stagnant water - we are talking about a major, major, MAJOR health crisis here!

I have a real good question - where the *hell* is our aid? Where are the countries we helped out six months ago? Funny how everyone's just disappeared, isn't it? Why is it that we're always the ones who help everyone else out, but when we need the aid, everyone does a disappearing act? Anyone see anything funny about this?

Never any answers... just more and more questions....

I welcome comments. But I warn you, my feelings are strong on this issue....

I would do what ever would be necessary to survive without infringing on someone else's right. The last time I looked though, digital radios & TVs are not necessary items to live. People who do things like loot nonessential items in a time of crisis are certainly thinking of no one but themselves and deserve to be, well hung out to dry because it's a sure bet they'd be first in line when food and water came, even before the dying children and elderly.

About your previous blog - funny, no one has responded to that one. I'm not sure myself what to say about that except what does he know? All dicks taste different - No I've never tasted dick but a friend of mine told me that I tasted good and when I joked that she said that to all the guys she said, "No. Some guys taste better than others and some don't taste good at all." and she asked, "Do all pussies taste the same?" So you are right that that guy is some kind of shithead cuz the only way he'd know if he tasted good with an attitude like his is if he sucked himself off ...
goodnight

FYI, The united nations has offered to provide aid. Canada, Britan, France, Mexico, Russia and even Cuba has offered help (in the form of teams of doctors and medicine) and our stupid president has turned them down.

George W. Bush is a clueless jackass. Why would you turn this aid down, as people (elderly, babies, etc) are dying. Oh that's right, most of these people are poor and black. If it had been his rich white oil buddies in Texas that needed the aid maybe he would have moved a little faster.

Also Bush is commander in chief of the armed forces. Why did he wait 5 GD days to order in active and reserve duty military to help out ?> Oh yeah, poor, black.. you get it.

I sure hope this inspires people to vote in the next election. Espically people who are either poor and/or "people of color" as well as us middle of the road middle class folks.

I have a real good question - where the *hell* is our aid? Where are the countries we helped out six months ago? Funny how everyone's just disappeared, isn't it?
