Ships At Sea

Like ships sailing at sea
We see each other but at a distance
Never near enough to stop a while
For that cup of tea
Yet at sea we see the other as faceless frequently
Not faces just dots aboard
That ship at sea
Ships moving along crossing each other's path
Now and then a wave, a hand
But never trying to know the other up close.

This poem expresses the difficulty of meeting real people in life. Reality shows that each would rather go on along their way instead of stopping by to chat and talk for a while.

A `Hi' is met by silence
A grin is met by a frown
An Invitation is met with suspicion and
A call is greeted with `No! Not now.'

And so many says no one cares.
If they will only be more conscious of others who reach out to them.
