Food Is Not Great in Sg - Sunday Times

Hey ! I agree totally with this report.

The food courts are spoiling the food market. Fly by night cooks and pretenders. I know I can do better with the food satndard if I have the connection. I never trust stores that use young cooks. They just cook something up. No feel, no passion no pride.

Tell you what are some of the great food places in sg.

1. Globetrotters - In United Square. Managed by a British guy. He sets high standards. Dishes like Sheesh Karpab ( spell ? ), Beef stew ( yummy yum yum ) and other European dish. More than plateable.

2. Nasi Padang ( Malay Rice )in Whampoa Drive. A middle age Minah cooks and sells. First class food fit for a king. Place is closed now for renovation. Must find out where she put up during this time.

3. Pasta Mama (not Pasta Mamia the imitation) - Tanglin Court and some other place. Pasta - No competitors as far as I know.

4. Nasi Padang again. At Toa Payoh Aircon Interchange Basement Food Court. The entrance is next to MacDonald back entrance. This place have some really great stores. Reasonably priced. Go early as the place is normally packed. Go for the Nasi Brani. The rice and gravy is fanastic!

To be continued.
