In Honor...

Maybe not the most appropriate place for this, but in honor of my father's father, and of my father's Dad, both of whom served in the U. S Navy during WWII... have a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend, and spare a thought and a little gratitude for the men like them who fought for our freedom. (And indeed, for soldiers around the world who stand up for their country on a daily basis.)

What a nice idea Elysia. I would like to remember my maternal grandfather, who served in the Navy at Guadalcanal during WWII, who passed away last March, and my father, who served in the Marines in Vietnam (before many people even knew where or what Vietnam was), who passed away much too young at the age of 49.

As for the men and women that have served, and the ones that are serving today, a huge Thank You goes out to them and their families.

I think any place is appropriate for remembering Elyshia!

I'd like to remember my maternal grandfather as well, who served in the Army during WWII and who died 10 years ago on Thanksdiving day in a car accident. I'd also like to say thanks and a short prayer for all who have served our country (both living and deceased).

(Before anyone jumps me - and rightfully so- I know I said "MEN like them" but I meant "men and women like them." Can't forget that some of "my boys" are girls.)

This is very appropriate and honorable for you to honor them here or anywhere for that matter. We are free for what they did. I am thankful when people remember those who stood for what they believed in.
