Doctor, My Eyes

A less-blatantly-sexual blog now...

I don't know if I've ever spoken here about the years I spent involved in the theater. Probably not, since I haven't done anything remotely theatrical in the past, oh, 13 years or so (unless you count faking orgasms, or telling men that everything is all right and there are no problems LO. But someone else had a post about music during sex, and it got me to thinking about something that recalled my theater years for two reasons. One, the incident happened back then, with one of my theater friends, and two, the whole experience evokes something called "sense-memory."

There are several different schools of acting, and by that I refer not to physical locations but to ways of thinking about method, execution, etc. I forget, honestly, which schools advocate which methods. One method, though, involves recalling some sort of real-life memory, to invoke the emotional reaction called for in the scene, i.e. when you need to cry in a scene, thinking back to when your beloved dog died in order to call up real tears. A simpler, everyday life version of it, is when certain smells, tastes, or sounds remind you of something or someone, take you back to a place and time deep in your memory.

If you're at all familiar with the song "Doctor, My Eyes" by Jackson Browne, you know there is just nothing sexy about it at all. But you see, many many years ago, my virginal self had a rather intense fling with a very special man. He was one of my fellow actors, I idolized him as an artist, and also had a serious crush on him. He was a few years older, and when things began to happen between us, I couldn't believe it, it was so wonderfully surreal. Though he wound up not being my "first" (sadly, he is instead The One That Got Away), he was part of a few very significant firsts, not the least of which was that he was my first experience of oral pleasure. I never gave that to him, I was quite timid, but I received a time or three. There was always music playing in his house, and one of the times we were together, I think the first time, actually, that song was playing on the radio. To this day, I can't hear it without thinking of him, and calling up all the wonderful memories (as well as the sad regrets of wasted time and missed opportunities) of our time together.

This is going to sound awful, but the music playing the first time I had sex (and I had put it in) was Cake and Sodomy by Marilyn Manson. To this day, I hear that song and think of my first time.

I love acting...I love to act in theaters ! I have a home viedeo camera that i CONSTANTLY play with and on, i have so many short movies that busts everyone i know laughing and falling off their chairs, I remember when the movie "The Blairwitch project" came out, i watched that and I LOVED it, i made my own-it was kind of earie ( ? ) since it was made so close of time frame to the original, but im getting off the subject.

I lost my virginity while in room to a lovely lady who we were listening to the soundtrack of the original batman (Prince)-I personally really hate the artist, yet when a particular song plays on VH1 it brings back lovely memories.
