A Vampire for JD

Okay, I will try to recreate the lost post from last night... only because you asked, jd...

Last night, driving in to campus, I saw a vampire. Not your stereotypical pale-skinned vampire with blood red lips and a slick black widow's peak hairline. But I felt like he was a vampire nonetheless.

He was dark. If I had to guess, I'd say some variation of Hispanic. South-America-Hispanic. As if vampires have any real heritage other than their... hmm... affliction? species? dining habits? Anywho. I'm not sure what made me think he was a vampire. Maybe the way he seemed to glide through the dark evening, lost in his own reality that seemed so separate from this one. More so, the way he didn't even glance toward my car as he crossed the street, though he began to cross at the yellow and I had barely come to a full stop when he crossed my path. It was as though he wasn't worried at all that I might hit him - and driving in Houston, one learns quickly that there is no courtesy on the road.

Still, I wonder what any self-respecting vampire would be doing leaving campus around 9:00 at night. Shouldn't that be about the time he is arriving, looking for a snack?

Maybe he was through snacking and was looking for a full course meal. Was there any parties in the area? Nothing like a smorgasbord to choose from.

Or maybe it was all that Goth music he was listening to that kept him alive? (you know those Goth kids and their crazy Goth music! *lol*)
