Sex toys banned by law

Here is and extract of the HBO real time with Bill Maher show and it has some interesting comments I wanted to share...

MAHER: Okay, I want to ask about sex in America, and I think this is the right panel to do it. [laughter] [applause]

CAMPBELL: We’re all in favor of that, too.

MAHER: Because–

GILMORE: We’re from the Netherlands. [he laughs]

MAHER: I have said many times this country needs to get laid so badly. [laughter] Listen to all these stories that are going on the news right now. In five states ‒ and now South Carolina wants to be the sixth one ‒ they are considering outlawing sex toys. You know, sex toys. I don’t think I have to get more graphic than that. [one audience member boos] Boo. Yeah, boo, right. [laughter] Take a stand, sir. [laughter]

Seven states, in November, are going to have an anti-gay marriage proposition on the ballot. The morning-after pill, we can’t seem to get that approved in this country, when nations like your own (Canada), I think, already have it.

There’s a vaccine against human ‒ I can’t pronounce this ‒ do you know--?

CAMPBELL: Papilloma virus.

CAMPBELL: Papilloma virus, that they say 80% of women, by the age of 50, will be exposed to. And there are groups that are against a vaccine because they say it would encourage people to have sex. This is like being against the Tetanus shot because it’s going to encourage people to step on a rusty nail. [laughter] [applause]

The Bush Administration ‒ you can’t get funding in your school unless you teach total abstinence until and after marriage. And after marriage, I’m sure it won’t be a problem. [laughter] I’m joking, of course. But, what is up with this country?
