The Trumpet Vine

Several years ago I planted a trumpet vine on the trellis for added privacy around my hot tub. It has done its job but, like many things, comes with a downside; it spreads everywhere.

I have considered having it totally removed this fall and planting several climatis vines to replace it but I have given up on that idea every morning I am in the hot tub surrounded by orange flowers and a lot of hummingbirds.

Hummingbirds were not my goal when I planted the vine but they do affect my decision to remove the vine. So, I guess I can compromise a little time in removing the spreading sprouts of the vine while enjoying its benefits.

Being a member of Passion.Com is something I have willingly become. I know there are going to be some compromises to be made, but there are also the possibilities of what may be to weighed against the inconveniences.

While I am not sure what my 'goal' is here, I am sure there is something beautiful on the horizon to appreciate.

In the meatime, I'll just watch the hummingbirds.

Welcome to Blogland I think a little judicious pruning and cutting will do just fine.... besides, why give up the hummingbirds?

Thanks Dragon....I wish you all the peace and serenity....

I have to leave this place, not because you and the beautiful people here, but because of me.

I just arrived home from Jamaica and when I embarked on that business trek, I had a lady friend - platonic - for more than a year.

While in Jamaica I took her phone calls and opened her e-mail none of which was out of the ordinary.

The cab dropped me off at my house and there was Nicole on my porch wearing a nice knee length pink dress and opened her arms saying, "Welcome home, Max. I love you."

I have to say, it was a struggle to release from her embrace and I knew she has to teach school tomorrow and I didn't want to take her home, but I did.

That was the most physical contact we ever had as friends and I think that a little bit of relationship innocence is very romantic.

I have a long week of work ahead of me including getting the best emerald cut diamond I can find to slip on her size 5 finger next Sunday when I'm hosting a neighborhood cookout. I'd rather do that with her in Negril but she doesn't have a break until October and has no current passport; the passport will be resolved Saturday.

Unknown to me, she DID use the hot tub and experienced the hummingbirds just as I described while I was gone. I'll share with her your response this weekend.

For now, my skin is seriously skin damaged as dark as it is and I'm spraying on the Clinique stuff and am going to sleep alone but never alone.

The strange thing is I had to listen to her when I needed a Red Stripe which was handed to me as she didn't miss a beat. The bottom line is she's going shopping and everything goes in the house except my grand piano and four poster. She took my card and said, "Trust me,babe, you won't regret it."

So, I have to leave this place because, apparently I'm going to be busy.

Happiness is a state of mind which varies contingent on the person's mind capacity.

I guess I'll stand pat with one special lady and go forward.

I wish the best to you all.

Max
