Christmas Greetings

Well, it's Christmas Morning, 9am.. Just got out of the shower and I am getting the kids going. We are going to church this morning since Billy has to usher. Our church has three (packed) services on Christmas Eve, and a Christmas morning service that is usualy small. I read in a web article that many of the large, or so-called called 'Mega Churches', are not having a Sunday service this morning since they think the attendence will be small because it is also Christmas. What's up with that????.... I always felt that one person is enough. I know our pastors feel that way.

Since when do numbers count. That seems to be a trend in the newer churches. Everything is a 'program' and it's success is measured by the number of people involved. Everything is a 'production', put on with cameras and projector. I even saw a church where the CENTER of their church is a stage for the band. No Cross, no Altar. After all, they wouldn't want to offend anyone.

Myself, I like a 'Quiet Christmas' as one pastor put it. Time to refect on what this day REALLY means. Time to be with family and friends to give thanks not for the presents, nor for the decorations, nor for the food. But for THE GIFT...
Given to us from God.... God Himself.... 'God with us'... Born as a man so that we may have all the other gifts God has for us. Not by OUR merit, but by His.

Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Thank you caressmewell. A Merry Christmas to you... read your Blog. WOW......!!!!!

Now, a follow up to my post.

It seems that our pastor heard the same thing I did about churches cancelling their services and gave a challenge to the congregation to come to the Christmas day service. We had a FULL house.. We even ran out of bulletins and had to share... That has NEVER happened before. We filled the balconey and even had to seat people next to the choir. The pastor was very pleased, and so were we.

A small Christmas miracle..
