The movie that changed my brain!

Last night, J and I sat down and watched "SuperSizeMe" by Morgan Spurlock.

This was quite possibly the best movie I've ever seen. Hands down. Really.

While watching it, I was horribly aware of the bit of flab on my belly and thighs. I was mentally reviewing my diet. I was grateful that I didnt eat fast food or drink sodas. There was so much to this movie about corporate politics, body image, food in schools and marketing ploys. I'm going to have to make my mother see this because when she does, she is going to intensify her battle to help my brother's kids (who eat nothing but fast food and soda)

After watching this, I realized that I had not exercised for 2 days. It was 10:30 pm but I didn't care. Cluching soup cans in my hands as "weights", I danced for 25 minutes to my JockJams cd. Actually worked up a sweat.

My resoultions:
- no more coffee soymilk - (WAAAA!) There is too much sugar and fat soymilk in there
- reduce sugar. From now on, green tea gets no sugar at all
- snacks are carrots, celery, and non-fatty stuff

That along with this 30 min a night thing ought to be enough to start reducing some of the bad stuff without freaking me out too much. Still, I'm going to have headaches for a while..but that's not any different than what I have now..

There are some other great documentaries out there that will really put the zap on your head. "The Corporation" and "The Smartest Guys in th Room" are two of them.

Almondnut....good to see you back on the blog again....was a bit worried about you. I guess it is good that the eye stuff checked out OK....but I would keep on it to find what else might be causing the headaches.

I have not seen the movie you talk about above, although I have seen bits and pieces of it. A while back I heard him being interviewed on Public TV and Public Radio and figured I had a pretty good handle on what he found during his diet. But....perhaps I should watch the whole movie anyway. Again, good to have you back.
