School started again

The past week I've been one busy woman. School has started up again. The first day of class (last Mon) I went to class at 9am, listed to the short announcements that the instructor gave. He then released us to "open lab" for the next 5 weeks. Basically this means: show up when you want, leave when you want, just make sure you have enough work to show at the end of the time (or you have enough broken things to show that you have been expermenting) All I did that day was go to my car and then make 8 trips back and forth, carrying my clay and supplies down. Was tired after that so went home and worked for a few hours.

After work, I logged on to my online class. This is not a class that i can listen to while working - its a class on Music History (one of my stupid requirements to graduate) so last night I learned about Black Sabbath, ACDC, Kiss, Eric Clapton, and others. I can tell that this is going to be oh-so-useful *rolling eyes*.

So far its been 5 full days of the open lab and I've completed:

- a roman temple shrine
- a garden house for my mother (easy b-day gift and she keeps begging for one)
- a curvy, highly carved shrine
- a bamboo patterned snail shrine
- 8 cups thrown on the wheel
- a thrown bowl
- 40 test tiles for glaze class next semester
- glazed my 3 vegetable shrines from last semester

I have 4 more weeks to go. My goal is to get 2 shrines finished a week. They take about 8 hours of solid work each, so I think I can do it as long as I have enough artistic ideas to keep me going. I *WILL* get into grad school.
