Race for a scholarship

I've been labeling slides tonight. The main art professor came into class today and announced that the department has been given money, so any student that will be a Senior next year that has SLIDES OF THEIR WORK should give him a copy of those slides by 10am tomorrow morning so that he can put them in for the last-minute scholarship. Thank Goodness that I went and got slides of my old stuff done in March. I had just picked them up last week. *whew* Most of the other students don't have any slides yet. I wish I had some newer pieces to show, but I'll just toss over what I have.

So I researched how to label slides in a professional way, where to put the red dot, how to format a "slide list". Its all in an envelope ready for delivery early tomorrow morning.

Today I reglazed my octopus pot (the color was totally ruined in the last firing - the purple turned streaky blue/black). I have to wait until I can fire it alone to see if this works so for now its sitting on my shelf. I then finished another shrine - (this one shows a cucumber covered with a condom, a beautiful flower, and a very shapely leaf. My classmates could not get over how phallic the cucumber was and tittered like 10yr olds.) and started the outer shell of a 3rd shrine. This one is going to have something to do with eggplants and a womb.

Good luck in the race...hope they give extra points to the person most prepared. Can you share a picture of one of your new shrines?

They have some very interesting pottery in Mexico. I can just see the response of your classmates over some of those works. Luck on your scholarship!

I hate for this to seem as an afterthought, but it will, but it really isn't. I wanted to tell you that it's obvious your parents were artist as well. They create a beautiful sculpture when they created you. You would be a fabulous model for artworks. I am an amatuer(better than average)photographer so I do have a bit of an eye for these things

RedSwallow - I'll bring in my camera this weekend and get some pics. Right now they don't have any color on them. I was thinking of buying a cucumer and putting a condom over it so that I could see what the right shade of "green covered with thin whitish rubber" color would look like.

4nik8 - thank you for the compliment. In reality, my parents were a software QA manager and a butcher

Bah! One doesnt have to have an eye for art to know a beautiful woman when they see one. You are the kind of good looking that makes me regret my choice of mate.(lets not tell her though) Beautiful in body and mind is a combo that isnt that easy to find.

Good...look forward seeing them when you think they are ready for show. And I am glad you are cautious, you can never trust a cucumber when it comes to sexually transmitted diseases....just kidding.
