Migrane ass kicking
Migrane ass kicking
A migrane headache kicked my ass last night. I'm calling it a migrane because that's the only lable for a headache that people will understand that it put me out of commission for hours. I have no idea if it qualifies as a migrane, but whatever.
I have a ton to do today as a result of not being able to do my tasks last night.
- get a rental car reserved for the trip to San Francisco
- pay my quest bill
- buy plane tickets for a required family trip down in October
- check over all my work projects to be prepared for Mon
- go to the lab and unload my 2 kilns
- in the lab, finish the five little pieces I started yesterday
- check my class schedule to re-arrange it to get a clas with Kurt Weisner
- read my glaze book and make flash cards of all the chemicals and what they do
I was also supposed to 'hang out' today with that NewYork girl I met online. We didn't have definate plans. She's unemployeed, so said that we needed to do something free like play cards and people watch. This is the reason I don't have friends - I don't have the time to sit around for 3 hours and play cards. I carefully dole out my hours to each of my tasks all day and a headache one night throws my whole 'to do' list off.

Been there and done that. I can do nothing but eat tylenol and sleep in a dark room with an ice pack on my head and pardon the details but a bucket nearby for when I toss my cookies. The next day is usually as bad, since I feel like all life has been sucked out of me. It really does suck when it throws everything off, since you are barely able to open your eyes, let alone get back in the swing of things.|

I have a relative that has had migraines for most of his life. Up to 3 ro 4 a week........|
He has tried everything that is available.
At times, his migraine are so bad he has to go down to the spare room in the basement ( in tears btw ), which is the most quiet room in the house.
Some times for up to 3 days at a time........
Because his head hurts so bad he cant take even the slightest bit of input....... noise, light, movement....... So believe me, He knows what a migraine is.
For a while there, about a year ago, was a new medication that worked, until he found that for him - it had side effects that were worse than the migraine.
•••And the miracle of this story is that Now - he has finally found relief from this pain with "Acupuncture"
It has been 4 months now since he had a “knock down drag out “migraine!
•••Since his first migraine 35 years ago, this is the longest time he has gone with out a migraine for more than 2 or 3 days
In the beginning he had to go to the acupuncturist 2-3 times a week. Now he can go less, 1xweek, and the treatment lasts. Sometimes he will start to feel one coming on and he can go have the treatment and the result will be just a very minor headache that is gone in a short amount of time....... The really super thing about this - is his medical insurance is paying for the acupuncture treatments.

Anything that is debilitating and stops the brain sucks. Pain is a really good thing, for other people. Whoever came up with that saying "No Pain No Gain" I'd just love to meet them and kick 'em in the groin and say, 'Pleased to be able to help you too." |
Relax a bit more AlmondNut, I know it is facetious of me to say that but it does prevent migraines.

humboldthonni of the humboldthonni blog suggests - Masturbation does help if you can get past the initial pain. What a connundrum. I suggest trying to fill your head with green light (dont think about it just do it) and say out loud, "The pain is going away now". Practice, practice. Green light heals all, trust me on this.|
pretty_blue_eyes of the pretty_blue_eyes blog concurs - Oh yes, I've known a long time about the benefits of masturbation to ease headaches. lol.
And from [member UberMunchkin of the UberMunchkin blog - As Queen of Migraines, I can attest that reaching climax does work. Hmmm... I feel a migraine coming on....
I see a pattern emerging AlmondNut! I too can attest to the medicinal benifits. Next time you feel one of those horse killers coming on, ya might find a nice quiet, dark room and "take matters into your own hands"...

Hey girlfriend you have my sympathy as you know I get migraines constantly. They suck. I have had chronic migraines since I was young like around 8 or so. Mine can get pretty bad too so I can so understand how you feel. Hope it gets better for you. |
