Sisterhood - you hear the term used in movies, used for sororities and other "Women Only" groups. I've been in chat rooms and saw females welcoming other females, calling them Sis and thought they were sisters for real. Duh!
I don't have a sister, so I've never known what it is to have that kind of "sisterly" relationship.
But then I got to thinking about it and realized that we as women, whether we are black, white - or any other color of the rainbow - whether we are Mothers, Grand Mothers, Step Mothers, Adoptive Mothers, single Mothers or married Mothers, we all belong to a Sister hood! We all know what it feels like to love a child, to have the love of a child and for some , the loss of a child.
Today, we shall celebrate our Sister hood! Today, we shall celebrate all our trials & tribulations, our triumphs & successes that have made us who we are - Mothers!
Take a moment for yourself and be proud that you have accomplished something that some will never do, some can not do or some will not have the chance to do. When we began this adventure called motherhood; we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead
And remember this...
Time passes. :>
Jobs come and go.
Love has its high and lows.
Men don't do what they are supposed to do.
Friendships come and go.
Birthdays and anniversaries are forgotten.
And our children may grow up but we will always be their Mother!
To all the Mothers out in Blogland, I wish you a Happy Mother's Day!
