My 'alien' - brain tumour - is like a large strawberry in size (scary) with tentacles fanning out into the brain - starfish like.
The pills I take now keep it from reacting and it's been well over a year since my last 'reaction' and more than four years since it was first discovered. In that time it hasn't grown at all... so, for me, life goes on.
If it starts to grow again - which it probably will one day - that is the beginning of the scary downward path. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and finally, if they don't work, an operation to try and cut it out - which will probably leave me paralysed down one side and still the danger it might grow back (assuming I survive the operation).
But that's all maybes and ifs and anyway by then our wonderful cancer research scientists throughout the world may have found some way of tackling brain tumours.
In the meantime life is life and I ain't going to let a little freeloader stop me enjoying it!
Live every minute, whatever I'm doing. Keep laughing and smiling. The world is a wonderful place. Our place.

Four years is a looong time... why would something change after being the same for that long? I firmly believe in the power of an upbeat attitude. Forget about what you can't change, stay positive and live life to fullest!|
