Alison's dream. Part 7. Going out as a girl.

Mum was very pleased with my progress ‒ just as I was! ‒ “Well Alison,” she said one bright sunny morning, “you really look wonderful this morning, how about going shopping?”
I froze. “You want me to go to town as a girl,” I stammered. “You have got to be joking. Everyone will know and laugh at me.”
“I doubt it,” said mum. “You’re looking like a wonderful young girl and anyway they all have their own things to do and we will just blend in as a mum and daughter at the shops. Anyway, before we go just remember to talk in a kind of whisper so no one hears your still-masculine sounding voice. We’ll go upstairs now and get you really ready.
“Remember to smile a lot, don’t be afraid, you’re a young woman now, and if you see anyone you know, just turn away for a few seconds and chat to me, that way they will carry on with what they are doing and forget you.”
We went upstairs and the first thing mum told me was to get into the bathroom and shave my legs.
Now, at my age, I didn’t have much hair on my legs, but mum thought it best to shave them smooth ‒ and my arms as well.
All that done and with some extra touches of make-up and hair nicely fluffed I chose to wear my nicest skirt and new blouse and my heels and was all set to go ‒ nervous, but ready.
More tomorrow
